In dramatic body camera footage, police officers desperately pulled a trapped woman out from under a burning car in Kansas. Leawood police responded to a call around 2 a.m. Monday about an unidentified woman, 51, who was trapped when her car caught fire after failing to stop at the Tomahawk Creek Parkway intersection and then hitting another vehicle. The impact sent her car into a tree, causing it to catch fire. Dash cam footage showed the dark vehicle flip onto its passenger side as bright orange flames shot up and almost reached the trees. Three police officers and a firefighter rushed to the scene before one officer shouted: “Over here.” A pair of legs wearing blue jeans peaked out from under the car. Leawood is located about ten miles south of Kansas City, Missouri. Leawood police told DailyMail.com that the woman is currently in a “local medical center burn unit” and that “her injuries would lead to a long recovery.” Officers used fire extinguishers to keep the raging flames at bay until firefighters arrived.
