Warzone 2.0 is one of the most anticipated titles in CoD history. The battle royale sequel will be released on November 16, alongside Modern Warfare 2 Season 1. Alongside the classic BR modes will be DMZ, an Escape from Tarkov mode that sees players fighting for ground in Al-Mazrah. While many CoD fans are excited about the new mode and its potential, former Sledgehammer Games level designer Dr Disrespect is far from enamored with what he’s seen.

Dr. Disrespect makes “gimmicky” DMZ mode in Warzone 2.0

On November 12, following Infinity Ward’s latest round of details on DMZ, the duo criticized the feature as “technical” and sporting “sixth-grade design.” He said: “This new artificial DMZ function is already dead. Nobody wants to play that 6th grade draft.” This new artificial DMZ mode is already dead. No one wants to play that 6th grade draft. — Dr Disrespect (@DrDisrespect) November 13, 2022 When asked by fellow streamer Dr Lupo, Doc followed: “Cmon Lupo, if MW2019, Warzone Caldera, no CTF in mp, 8 maps, no tap sound, no ranked playlist, sbmm, killing 40 ai, 100 million marketing dollar budget is any indication along with what I’ve seen…..has no chance after week 1.” That’s what I thought @DrLupo, next time you bring your chewing gum to a discussion I’m having……you’re done. — Dr Disrespect (@DrDisrespect) November 13, 2022 While the CoD community will be waiting to see what DMZ has to offer, it’s true that there have been some reservations about the mode, which Infinity Ward has now confirmed will be in Beta. Dr. Disrespect compared DEADROP’s upcoming title favorably to recent Call of Duty installments, particularly focusing on the engine used. Only time will tell how Midnight Society’s title compares to DMZ, but for now, both are keeping their powder dry against Call of Duty’s newest mode.
