The RCMP said the incident happened on Willingdon Avenue and Sanderson Way. In a written statement, the force said officers responded to a report of the crash around 2 a.m. Sunday. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The roads remained closed for several hours while the police are investigating the accident. The Burnaby RCMP said the Crime Conflict Investigation Team is conducting the ongoing investigation.
