The Scottish government took the UK government to court to find out whether it could hold a referendum on independence without Westminster’s consent.
The Court announced the date on Twitter on Wednesday morning, three weeks after hearing arguments.

The judgment will be streamed live on the UK Supreme Court website.
Before announcing the Scottish Government’s challenge, the First Minister said she wanted the question of whether Holyrood could legislate for a referendum to be removed from political arguments.
What does each result mean? If the court rules in favor of indyref2, it will mark the beginning of the road to a second independence referendum. It is currently scheduled to take place on 19 October 2023. The question will be the same one put to voters in 2014: “Should Scotland be an independent country?” However, if the court sides with the UK government, things get more complicated. He then formulated a position that has generated considerable debate. He said the SNP would contest the next general election on the “single issue” of Scottish independence if the referendum bill was blocked.
Planned Protest A website has been revealed by National columnist Lesley Riddoch which will allow Yessers to gather for an impromptu protest planned for the High Court ruling. The site allows supporters to enter their contact information so they can be notified of the decision.
