Dame Deborah James was able to spend time with her beloved dad on Father’s Day. The podcaster You, Me & The Big C has had a busy week of events recently, as it continues to raise money and campaign for cancer charities, while also tackling the ultimate bowel cancer itself. In May, the 40-year-old author announced that she had stopped treatment for cancer and was now receiving care at her parents’ home in Woking, Surrey. Dame Deborah shared a new photo on her Instagram stories on Sunday, revealing that she was spending her father’s day with Alistair’s dad. However, in the bittersweet image, Alistair appears to be brushing Dame Deborah’s hair because the broadcaster has no energy. ‘Cheerful. Father’s day! Yes, my dad brushes my hair because [sic] “I no longer have the strength to brush this,” he wrote in the caption. In her last column, the former director revealed that she planned to enjoy whiskey with Alistair to honor the special day and praised him as her “unknown hero”, especially during her disastrous ordeal.
