Cristiano Ronaldo has called former teammates Rio Ferdinand and Roy Keane “good guys” and labeled the latter as his favorite Manchester United captain. The Portuguese superstar caused a shock wave in a recent interview, hearing of his treatment by United during his second spell. He also had words for his critics, notably Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville, as well as positive things to say about another pair of Red Devils legends. Cristiano Ronaldo had a lot to say about his ex-teammates in bombshell interview When asked about his old captain Keane and Ferdinand, who have supported him over the past year, Ronaldo said: “It means a lot because… I was in the dressing room with them. It is part of my path in football as well. As I have mentioned many times, Roy Keane for me was my best captain. “Rio Ferdinand helped me a lot. He was my neighbor, I was his neighbor. Very, very good guys. Not only because they spoke well of me, but they were there in the locker room. Ronaldo says Roy Keane is best captain to play at Old Trafford “They are football players. They know how players think and behave, etc.” However, he may have less glowing things to say about Ferdinand after his interview response. The former United defender said the interview was part of the Portugal star’s bid to leave the club, speaking after a call from colleague Jamie Carragher, who claimed Ferdinand was “in the 1 per cent” of people who would was defending Ronaldo’s actions. “You can’t sit here and defend that from Cristiano Ronaldo,” Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five podcast. The Portuguese also had positive words for Rio Ferdinand, describing him as a “good kid”. “Deep down and I know for a fact, this is all built for one thing – and that’s to get him out of the club. “This love affair with Manchester United that Cristiano had is over in my eyes. I don’t feel he’s there anyway, I don’t feel the club will take him back and I don’t think he wants to come back. All of these are built for this reason. “Until this interview I would have defended him and said the club has a big responsibility to communicate better.”
