Sun Pointe Village Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Sun Pointe Village Care Home in Kelowna. The health authority announced the outbreak on Tuesday, affecting the entire facility. The outbreak currently consists of 10 residents. “During an outbreak, additional infection prevention and control measures are in place, including the cessation of social visits, but essential visitors, palliative and end-of-life visits are permitted,” IH said in a statement to Castanet. Sun Pointe Village has 100 long-term care units, 20 assisted living units and 40 independent living suites. A COVID-19 outbreak was also declared Tuesday on level six of the David Kampe Tower at Penticton Regional Hospital.
