If you see flames or smoke coming from the Kelowna International Airport Thursday afternoon, don’t worry. Construction at YLW is scheduled to take place on the night of Thursday, November 17 from 9:00 p.m. until Friday, November 18 at 5:00 a.m. Construction activities will take place overnight as part of the Air Terminal Building Enabling Works project. YLW wants to reassure the public that this is a planned activity, with no concerns for the safety of people inside the terminal building or in the surrounding area. The airport will operate as normal as this will not affect any scheduled flights. Between 2019 and 2029, YLW plans to invest over $270 million in upgrades.
