Very lost
News of MacPhee’s death quickly circulated among the first PEI response communities, and social media was highlighted with black bands in the blue star of life symbol, as the first responders signaled their grief. MacPhee, a Bonshaw resident, has also been a member of the Crapaud Volunteer Fire Department since 2007. The department posted a message on social media on the afternoon of June 18. “This year was Annie’s 15th year as an active firefighter. “He has brought so much wisdom, humor, wild faith and knowledge to our department,” the post wrote. “Annie was a friend you could always count on. He was not only a firefighter but also one of the toughest. She was a teacher who passed on her knowledge to her colleagues and to her fellow firefighters. She was a paramedic who has saved many lives in her 30-year career. She was Blaine’s wife, whom he cared for to the end. And most importantly, a mom, to her incredible children that she was so proud of. ” The fire department expressed condolences and support to the MacPhee family, including Chester’s father, sister Shelley, children Tiffany and Noelle and her precious puppies. MacPhee was preceded by Norma’s mother and her husband, fellow firefighter Blaine. “To Annie. We are forever grateful for everything you have done. For your knowledge, your jokes, your compassion, your hard work and your camaraderie. “Calm down sister, we’ll get it from here.”
