While the Senate race in the Peach State is deadlocked, with Herschel Walker narrowly ahead of Raphael Warnock, the Governor’s race wasn’t close, with Stacy Abrams conceding. Ms. Abrams, a lawyer who also lost to Kemp in 2018, would have been the first black woman to serve as governor in the United States if she had won. There were other early wins for Republican favorites Ron DeSandis, Marjorie Taylor Green, Marco Rubio and Tim Scott. The “red wave” has yet to fully emerge, with Kathy Hochul in New York, among others, stoic Democratic interpretations. It’s still too early to know which party will win the Senate, with Pennsylvania and Georgia still too close to call. But exit polls from CNN show the country has turned against its president, with 73 percent of voters unhappy or angry about “the way things are going” in the US. The Telegraph’s Josie Ensor is in Pennsylvania tonight, while Rozina Sabur is in Georgia bringing all the latest from two of the tightest races.
