Following further investigation, including CCTV inquiries, police believe a second vehicle, possibly a BMW car, was also involved in the incident and a public appeal has been launched. Captain Martin Wilcock, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations Unit, said: “These are very tragic and sad circumstances and our thoughts are with the man and his family at this time. We are keen to speak to anyone who has information, who saw what happened or who may have dashcam footage. “We are particularly keen to establish whether the motorcyclist and the BMW car were racing prior to the collision and would encourage motorists to come forward and assist our inquiries. Furthermore, I would directly appeal to the driver of the BMW to contact the police immediately.” Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting calendar 1028 of November 11.
