The mural, which shows an athlete balancing on a damaged building, was posted by the anonymous graffiti artist late Friday night. The site was captioned as being in Borodyanka, Kiev region, Ukraine. Two other murals were seen nearby – one depicting a man resembling Russian President Vladimir Putin flipping during a judo match with a small boy, and another showing two children using a metal tank trap as a seesaw. Photo: AP Borodyanka, northwest of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was one of the towns hardest hit by Russian shelling after the invasion began in late February. He was freed in April, but for weeks afterwards, he was isolated – the power was out, shops were closed, transport links were down and aid agencies and other volunteer groups were the only sources of food, clothing and other necessities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later said the situation in occupied Borodyanka was “much more horrific” than in Bucha, where hundreds of civilians were found dead in mass graves.
