Revenue officers stopped and searched for an unaccompanied trailer this morning after it arrived on a ship from Dunkirk to France. The survey was conducted as a result of routine profiling and using the Revenue portable X-ray scanner. Police found more than 5kg of heroin and 8kg of cocaine, which were hidden in a hidden compartment of the trailer. A man in his 30s has been arrested and is being held at Wexford Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing. In a statement, Revenue said the operation was part of an ongoing drug smuggling operation. He said: “If businesses or members of the public have any information, they can contact Revenue confidentially at the Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295.”
