Two operations were carried out overnight by thieves. Shortly after 9 p.m., police responded to Halliday’s Meat Market on Gower Street in downtown St. Louis. John’s where a man allegedly threatened staff with a gun while trying to rob the company. Police say the 33-year-old man destroyed the cash register during the incident and was held by staff until the RNC arrived. He was slightly injured during the fight and was examined by paramedics before being taken to the padlock. The suspect was charged with armed robbery and making threats. About an hour later, police responded to another armed robbery at Marie’s Mini-Mart on Thorburn Road. A male suspect threatened the staff with a gun and left with an unknown amount of money. Police called Unit K9 but are still searching for the suspect.
