Although Apple’s Apple TV virtual remote control was available as an app, the tech giant abandoned the exclusive app and removed it from the App Store in October 2020. Since then, the app has been available directly through iOS ‘Control Center’ and of iPadOS. Finally, the TV remote control is an application again. Now if it appeared at the top of Spotlight search results. Has anyone made a shortcut to launch it so I can put it on my Home screen? pic.twitter.com/41qw24cQ7e – Steve Moser (@SteveMoser) June 18, 2022 Now, it seems that, along with a refreshed, highly customizable lock screen, the exclusive Apple TV Remote app is back as well. As someone who constantly misplaced his physical Apple TV remote control and often forgets that he can swipe down from the top of his iPhone to access the built-in virtual remote control, this is great news. (I’m used to using the exclusive Apple TV remote control app). The first beta for iOS 16 developers is currently available and a public beta will likely be released sometime next month. The final version of iOS 16 will be released next fall. For more on iOS 16, follow this link. Source: @SteveMoser
