Police said the girl’s death was confirmed at around 2:45 p.m. after a call was made to an unconscious teenager near the Mercier Bridge. Police found the body of 17-year-old Adalya Dorvil, who was reported missing earlier on Tuesday. They say it seems to be an accidental death. The girl’s body was first seen more than two hours earlier, at around 12:30 p.m., but police said she was in an “unfortunate” spot and that it took hours for emergency services to arrive. At that point, until mid-afternoon, paramedics attempted resuscitation maneuvers but was pronounced dead on the spot. “Everything makes us believe it is a coincidence,” said SPVM spokesman Rafael Bergeron.
