The Norfolk OPP says a motorcyclist was traveling north on Cockshutt Road when the driver collided with a truck on Thompson Road East. Police, firefighters and ambulances rushed to the scene shortly before 7 p.m. The motorcyclist died on the spot. The driver of the truck was released from the vehicle by firefighters and taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The investigation continues. The intersection of Cockshutt Road and Thompson Road East was closed for several hours.
