The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday around 1.30 am. outside the Crown Inn pub on Ferry Road, Rye. In Argus, an eyewitness said the driver was in a different pub before he saw the blue Nissan Note “driving along the sidewalk”. A 55-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail for further police investigations. Sussex police are calling for witnesses or anyone with a video to show up after the June 19 incident.
