By Samantha Lawson Posted June 19, 2022 at 4:41 pm A fire broke out in an apartment building in the Westdale area, another fire in the city of Hamilton in the last two days. The Hamilton Fire Department is at the scene of a fire on Glen Rd. between Tope Crescent and Macklin St. North. Firefighters arrived to detect a fire on the 11th floor of the building. Reports indicate that smoke could have come from a balcony upstairs and crews say the unit was severely damaged. The fire is considered suspicious and has contacted the Fire Department. The Fire Brigade and the Emergency Services have not said if there are any injuries. Just yesterday (June 18) a fire in downtown Hamilton caused extensive damage. An empty, four-story commercial building located at 206 King St. West was engulfed in flames. Hamilton Fire Chief David Canlife said the building had suffered significant structural collapse on all four walls. The wreckage caused damage to an A&W restaurant building as well as several parked cars on a plot just north of the damaged building. Insauga Advertising Standards and Writing Policies
