Posted June 19, 2022 at 6:52 am Peel District Police arrived at the scene of a double shooting early Sunday morning (June 19) in Brampton. Police received a call around 2 a.m. on reports of shootings in the area of Gateway Blvd. near Queen St. East. Police found two men with multiple gunshot wounds on arrival. According to rescuers, one person was found dead at the scene. The other person was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead. The incident took place in a square that housed a ballroom. Police believe the shots came from inside the building. There is a large police presence at the scene, including homicide detectives. At present, the police have not released information about suspects or vehicles. UPDATE: There were many people at the event at the Chandni Convention Center & Gateway in Brampton where shots were fired that killed two men. Peel District Police appealed to anyone who may have camera footage of the incident to show up to help with the investigation. UPDATE: Officers from the Office of Homicide and Missing Persons undertake this investigation. Police say there is still no suspicious information to be disclosed, but believe this is an isolated incident.
