PHOENIX – A family of five was found dead inside a north Phoenix home Wednesday morning, police confirmed, and is being investigated as a homicide. Phoenix Fire hazmat crews responded to a home near 7th Avenue and Northern for a reported “hazardous situation” and a possible unresponsive person shortly after 8 a.m. on Nov. 16. Two adults and 3 children were found dead inside with obvious signs of trauma, Phoenix police say. Melissa Soliz, adding that a suspect is not believed to be at large. It is not clear what led to the family’s murder. Southwest Gas shut off the gas to the home as a precaution and later said crews found the presence of gas, which made it a little difficult for first responders to immediately investigate the scene. Several ambulances and police vehicles were outside the home, but no further details of the situation were confirmed. No names were released. The search continues throughout the day.
