Supervisor Myrna Melgar tweeted Wednesday morning that the shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. inside the train and the suspect ran out of the train at Castro Station and remains free. He says the shooting took place after a heated verbal altercation between the victim who was killed and the suspect on the train. Eyewitnesses said the second victim, who was injured in the shooting, was not involved in the verbal altercation, Soup. says Melgar. Police do not know how full the train was at the time of the shooting. The relationship between the suspect and the victims is currently unknown. Police are working to protect the community throughout Pride and no specific threats have been made to Pride or the community. No description of the shooter is currently available. Police are working to retrieve surveillance videos from the train and Castro station. The SFPD has launched an investigation into Castro station, but this is not considered an active sniper status. There is no restriction on the area. The Castro station is closed and will be throughout the investigation. Trains will not stop there. SFMTA organized buses to support the service from the West Portal to Embarcadero / Folsom.
